"Ally" Says "Destroy All The Churches"

NRO, Clifford May- "Is it not news when the leading Saudi religious authority says that to terrorists?... Imagine if Pat Robertson called for the demolition of all the mosques in America. It would be front-page news. It would be on every network and cable-news program. There would be a demand for Christians to denounce him, and denounce him they would — in the harshest terms. The president of the United States and other world leaders would weigh in, too. Rightly so.

"So why is it that when Abdulaziz ibn Abdullah Al al-Sheikh, the grand mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, declares that it is “necessary to destroy all the churches in the Arabian Peninsula,” the major media do not see this as even worth reporting? And no one, to the best of my knowledge, has noted that he said this to the members of a terrorist group.

"Here are the facts: Some members of the Kuwaiti parliament have been seeking to demolish churches or at least prohibit the construction of new ones within that country’s borders. So the question arose: What does sharia, Islamic law, have to say about this issue?

"A delegation from Kuwait asked the Saudi grand mufti for guidance. He replied that Kuwait is part of the Arabian Peninsula — and that any churches on the Arabian Peninsula should indeed be destroyed, because the alternative would be to approve of them. The grand mufti explained: “The Prophet (peace be upon him) commanded us, ‘Two religions shall not coexist in the Arabian Peninsula,’ so building [churches] in the first place is not valid because this peninsula must be free from [any other religion].” In Saudi Arabia, of course, non-Islamic houses of worship were banned long ago, and non-Muslims are prohibited from setting foot in Mecca and Medina.

"There’s more: The inquiring Kuwaitis were from the Revival of Islamic Heritage Society (RIHS). That sounds innocent enough, but a little digging by Steve Miller, a researcher at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, revealed that ten years ago the RIHS branches in Afghanistan and Pakistan were designated by the United Nations as associates of — and providers of funds and weapons to — “Al-Qaida, Usama bin Laden or the Taliban.” [...]" >>>Read more

Disturbing Scenario in Interest Rates Alone

The national debt needs to be reversed NOW in a factual sense, not a philosophical one.

"Interest payments on U.S. government debt are three times spending in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars already, and that is with the lowest interest rate we have seen since the 1960s. A rise in interest rates would increase interest payments dramatically. What can the U.S. government do today to prevent a crisis from happening when interest rates go up?"

Is Obama Russia's Most Valuable Useful Idiot?

Russia's president-elect Vladimir Putin and US President Barack Obama. AP
American Thinker, Obama, Russia, and Gasoline Prices - "The Obama administration has responded to Vladimir Putin's landslide re-election as president of Russia by doubling down on appeasement. America may never live down the shame, and it will keep on paying through the nose at the gas pump for this folly. What the Obama administration has done over the course of just a few days is truly disturbing.
"First, after watching one of the most corrupt elections in Russian history, during which every major pro-freedom candidate was systematically excluded from the ballot, Obama congratulated Putin on his victory, and Obama's ambassador to Russia, Michael McFaul, defended the vote as if he were working for the Kremlin.
"Next, Obama unilaterally offered to turn over U.S. military secrets to Russia in order to convince Putin to help Europe protect itself from an Iranian missile strike. It will be remembered that Obama had already unilaterally canceled George Bush's plan to protect Europe because the Russians found it offensive.
"Finally, Obama demanded the repeal of the Jackson-Vanik amendment, the last formal legal obstacle to dictatorship in Russia left in the U.S., claiming the Russian opposition supported the move, while McFaul was simultaneously insisted that no legislation be enacted to replace it, ignoring the Russian opposition demands that such a measure be passed. Obama's duplicity here was nauseatingly palpable, and neo-Soviet in character. No wonder Putin and Obama get along so well.
"Meanwhile, Obama's approval rating in the U.S. plummeted precipitously.
"Now, I'm not naïve enough to think that Obama's slide in the polls is due to his outrageous and cowardly policy on Russia. Not that many Americans care what happens in Russia. But more should, and Obama's rating would be even lower if they did.
"Here's why: Russian actions are causing American to pay much more at the pump. Russia has consistently supported dictators and terrorism throughout the Middle East because by doing so it can worry the oil markets and cause the price of oil to rise.
"Russia's economy depends on oil the way the human body depends on blood. Shortfalls in oil revenue are putting intense pressure on the Russian budget, and there is only so much oil that inefficient Russian systems can pump in a day. This means Russia's only option is to try to boost the price. Helping Syrians kill civilians, or better yet aiding Iranians in killing Americans, is a surefire way to accomplish that.[...]" -->read more
